As an update to my recent previous review, they CAN make the curries with soft tofu (instead of fried), and I love it! Makes me feel so much better about what I'm putting into my body. I have also had the shiitake roll, and shiitakes are one of my favorite mushrooms, so it makes my taste buds and tummy very happy to have this as well. I doubt there's much else on the menu that I can safely eat (aside from a couple of the other vegetable-only rolls), but I love both the red and yellow curries so much that I'm totally content on ordering one of those each time I go. Also, they provide some complimentary fresh fruit at the end of the meal. It has usually been cut up oranges, but they gave us watermelon slices on the most recent visit, which was nice!

First of all the service was outstanding. We been sitting outside in the backyard on a hot day and they came by several times to ensure that we are feeling good. They brought is cold tissues and iced water was there in no time. The food was even better. I hade the dinner bento box for just 18$. Big portion and you get as well a miso soup and a salad. My friend had the sesame sea wheat salad and the miso tuna. Everything was just delicious.

It's all about the sashimi. Again, Brooklyn did not disappoint. So far, this area has pretty good Japanese restaurants. I've been to three of them and they are all excellent. The highlight of the meal was the sashimi. It was all fresh and delicious. The seafood salad was pretty good. It was made with a perfect hint of mayonnaise.

Went for sushi: simple rolls: salmon and eel, simple prices. Also had hot saki & plum wine. Waitress very outgoing and well-spoken. Sat on back patio, catching cool breeze after long walk down Promenade, then back up Piers 1 - 3. Wonderful end to wonderful weekend!

I love the transformation of this restaurant from a "Pan Asian fusion" to a straight forward Japanese sushi bar restaurant. We came here on a weekday for the lunch special. It was advertised that the back patio is open for diners. We went straight to the back patio which was well put together with summer flowers and plants that compliment the restaurant's motif. The tuna don that I selected tasted good and the fish was fresh. It was adorned with wooden boat and sake jar. It was also served with miso soup and vegetables salad with ginger dressing which is standard in any Japanese restaurant. The staff are attentive yet unobtrusive. I was given a nibble and cold bottle of Kirin light as soon I got seated. I will definitely comeback here in the future. My only qualm is the unnecessary over adornment on my sushi plate.

This review is for dine in. $30 groupon bought us a tasty and crispy (AND BEAUTIFUL) rock shrimp tempura, 2 warm bowls of Malaysian beef noodle soups and sweet little oranges . Awesome find in brooklyn heights for solid Asian fusion !

Love this cozy, upscale restaurant. lunch specials have huge variety from Thai to sushi at a reasonable price under $10. I tried the Malaysian Curry scallops which was delicious. The friendly staff asked me specifically if I wanted brown or white rice, which was a nice touch. The brown rice was a hearty, nutritious brain variety not the kind usually just brown colored only. Instantly after ordering, they serve up a delicious dish of cucumbers in a peanut type sauce, which is a generous added bonus. No complaints from me here. Staff is super friendly and they even have an outdoor patio. Will definitely back for the delicious Malaysian, which is an interesting twist. A little spicier than Thai and less on the sweet side.

I tried to order a Bento box as I did before on Seamless. They do not indicate a time for when the lunch special is over on Seamless and on their website. I don't know who I spoke with but I told her I was online at 3:25 trying to purchase the Bento box as I have purchased the Bento box from them before. She explained to me there is nothing she can do "If it won't let you order online then it's over" are her exact words. I explained to her that their own website does not give a time for when the lunch special is over, it could have been 3pm or 3:30pm. There is no indication. All she said was that "there is nothing I can do". I'm sure she could have done something. This would have been my second time ordering from them. Hopefully, she actually speaks to her manager to possibly put a start-end time for the lunch special. Smh. food is good, but in terms of the professional service, it wasn't pleasant. Some lunch specials go until 3, 3:30 or 4pm. There were no indications of the lunch special time. But she tries to get me to purchase a Bento for $18. No, thanks Ms.

I came here Saturday for lunch. Found this place on yelp due to my normal sushi spot not being open yet. A group of classmates/friends and I decided to order take out. The person who took our order recommended we sit in their back patio and wait. We were glad we did, it was nice and calm in the back. A few of us even ordered wine while we talked and waited.

Absolutely loved their Malaysian curry noodle soup! It was on the spicy side but very rich in flavor and had plenty of meat. The staff is always friendly, attentive and non obtrusive. I went during the happy hour(4-7) and the beer was very inexpensive and great. Will definitely come back to the peaceful backyard and delicious meal at Saketumi!

The other two reviews are highly questionable. Food: much too expensive for low quality. The pad thai was 95% flavorless noodles with a small selection of boiled wet chicken. Spice, even though it was listed as spicy, was nonexistent. Really poor. The other dishes I saw coming out had the same problem: no "vegetables" and only the cheep stuff. I even got home and had to make myself more food as the servings were too light. Drinks: both glasses of wine reminded me of church wine: too sweet without any other flavor of characteristics. Service: friendly. I did hear them ask for cash above credit card to the other table... which always bothers me a bit. I'm not a big Lantern fan (mostly due to the customer service issues), but will be going there next time for Thai, and to Iron Chef House for sushi.

I went here for lunch. The prices are decent and so was the food. Fast friendly service. I had a coconut soup, which was satisfying, pheonix roll which was made fresh and elegantly prepared.

Ordered thru seamless. Fast delivery. Ordered Oyako chicken don and pork katsu don. Meat is slathered in sweet sauce with frozen peas and corn over rice. No ginger or even balance in flavors. Pretty bad.

It was an okay place over all. I had sushi and it was okay but my friend had the pad thai and it tasted like Chinese food instead of Thai food. On a brighter note, the service was satisfactory.

Ordered from them the first time and was very impressed. Some of the biggest sushi rolls I've seen, very fast delivery, and super cheap. Will definitely be ordering again!

Laksa was not very good. Sushi subpar. Salmon was pretty good. Staff was friendly and accommodating. So I give it 2 stars for friendly staff and nice environment.

I ate there with 2 friends on a Friday afternoon. The food is simply bad. We all ordered dishes with chicken. It was so chewy and we could all swear that protein could not have been chicken. The 3 of us did not finish our meals and had to go somewhere else to eat. The service was good, thus the 2 stars rating. In a nutshell, the food taste and quality is sub-par to cheap takeout Chinese food!

Well this is just the old Tenda Bistro but by a different name. Makes me wonder what they are hiding by renaming the place. Even the check shows the old Tenda name. Service is a bit awkward, they tried to seat me at a table for 6ppl by myself. There were a bunch of four tops still available so I don't know what the rationale was for that. Points for offering the lunch special with rolls without rice. They were actually prepared quite nicely though something was off about the flavor. The salad was on the bitter side and the soup was flavorless though. Wouldn't come back with so many better sushi options in the neighborhood, but had to give it a try at least once (well twice I guess, since they tricked me into believing it was a different place than Tenda!)

I've ordered up from here a couple times now, and every time has been a great experience. I usually get a bunch of special rolls and Thai food, and they are ready for pickup within just 10 minutes. They are also very pleasant and polite over the phone, which is unheard of for these places. They actually spoke English, and I didn't need to repeat my order over and over, AND the order was completely correct. Here are some of the great special rolls and Thai food I've tried: - Play boy roll. - duck pai Thai - VCR Roll - Thai red snapper - Dragon Roll - curry noodle soup - spice scallop roll. - crispy duck - spicy girl roll - lobster tempura roll - Brooklyn Roll They also actually put in the extra effort of giving you a package of fruit for dessert with your order, including pineapple, oranges and cantaloupe. Good quality food at decent prices with fast, friendly service. I will definitely be ordering up from here again in the future .

I went here with my boyfriend for lunch and we loved it! It was a warm day and we were put outside in the garden, and it was very lovely. The waitress was great and kind, I believe her name is Jenny. She came every few minutes to make sure we were doing well, as well as refill our waters. We really enjoyed our experience here. We ordered edamame and shumai to start, and both were delicious! Our entrees were the chicken teriyaki which came with vegetables, soup or salad, and rice. I ordered shrimp with vegetables and brown rice. Both entrees were delicious and satisfying. The best part is that its next to the promenade which we went to afterwards. Overall, great business, food and service. Will definitely be coming back!
